aedge (Art Educators’ Developmental and Generative Explorations) is a biannual art exhibition organised by the Singapore Teachers’ Academy for the aRts (STAR) to nurture the professional identity of art teachers as Teacher-artists.
Teacher-artists are archetypes of art teachers as practising artists. Through the continual process of honing their creative practice, they relish the sense of fulfilment and pride in their artmaking journey. In the same way, their practice is valuable in further developing their teaching capacities that support their pedagogy as art teachers.
We extend our heartfelt congratulations to the Teacher-artists! We hope this exhibition will inspire more art teachers in the fraternity to pursue their first love of art as we continue to seed creativity in our art classrooms.
