Photo manipulation

In Who Am I?, the photographs go beyond the traditional mirrors. The mirrors are digitally manipulated to alter reality and question the individual’s identity. Amidst these photographic series, a real mirror is placed urging viewers to engage in self-reflection and question their own perception of self.

About Me
Ever since I was in Primary School, my ambition had always been to be a full-time teacher and a part-time artist. Right now, I am an Art teacher. It brings me joy that the path that I have travelled has led me to be both at the same time. It brings me even more joy to see works created by the students that I get to meet. From being comfortable with just using colour pencils and oil pastels, my career as a teacher has motivated me to venture out and move out of my comfort zone to try out various mediums so that I can share the knowledge and skills with my students.About my Artwork
Recently, I have been venturing to digital art and I have applied my newly learned skills in my
artwork. Photo manipulation was used for my work as I wanted to alter reality. Through my
artwork, I wanted to urge viewers to engage in self-reflection and question their own perception of self.About my views
Art is everywhere. It’s a language that can be used to bring awareness or communicate with
people the thoughts and emotions that cannot be simply put by words.
