Suvitha Prakass Pillay’s artworks alternate between reality and imagination. By deconstructing and reconstructing the real, she sets forth to capture the whimsical nature of everyday life in Singapore.

Singapore, a buzzing city, doesn’t remedy isolation but heightens it. The need to be perfect creates constant competition.

Suvitha combines her observations of ordinary people from various walks of life in Singapore with traditional Greek sculptures – a representation of the ideal, reminding the viewer that the default state of humanity is concealed by a sense of stillness and silence.
