Accelerated Intimacy
A momentary place of transit; the Hotel can be seen as an empty shelter. An oxymoron on many levels, this place is ultimately representative of space between boundaries; wakefulness and slumber, working and restful, solitary and inhabited, lust and apathy. The housed rooms permeate, both a presence of absence, and an absence of presence as travellers check in and out. Reassuring duplicates, the rooms pervade an enthralling sense of anonymity amongst the lone occupants.
This installation provides an insight into the thoughts and processes behind the creation of Choo’s recent work.
For reasons highlighted above, featured below are the thoughts that the artist had considered in the making of Accelerated Intimacy and the processes the artist had gone through. Take your time to appreciate the work that had gone behind the single piece of final work.
