Inspired by totems, the artist is interested in creating forms and encounters that manifests his personal experiences as a teacher and artist. ‘In Progress’ is part of his ‘Memorial Totems’ series, where he condenses his feelings into physical forms that he constructs.
As an educator and an artist, ‘In Progress’ was created as an artwork that reflects the nature of both roles, where raw material is shaped slowly but surely and refined into a form that emerges from the material, leaving the chaff and debris by the wayside.
