While most of us have spent more than fifteen years in school, many of our memories have dwindled to a brief moment in time, akin to the fleeting nature of shadows and light.
In Schools.Shadows.Stories, Arion Harper Lai and Mohammad Zabid Jabar use abstract photography to capture the distinct moments of school life. Abstraction allows them to experiment and bend the rules, giving them creative freedom.
Shadows shape light and emphasises it organically, creating drama and depth. From the state of silence in the classrooms during the school holiday period to the buzzing recess time, Lai and Jabar attempt to interpret these memories using reflection, light and shadows.
