Being an educator involves daily routines of busy schedules and tight deadlines. This induces fatigue in many educators and they seek rest through various activities. Qi Ying’s haven comes from immersing herself in the world of crochet. Creating amigurumi mushrooms is a break for her as she spins her mini world of possibilities.

Mushrooms thrive in damp, undesirable environments and are the decomposers of trees. They also provide shelter for other organisms within the habitat and some are even used as medicinal herbs – just like Teacher-artists who nurture students in a selfless manner.

Being a teacher-artist is not easy. Thus, Qi Ying seeks comfort and rest in her passion in order to find emotional refuge. Join her in her little world and take a breather.
