Charcoal on paper and AR, 2022

Nanyang Girls’ High School

As the pandemic situation continues, people are beginning to get used to keeping a distance from each other.
People are less familiar with the usual bodily contact, becoming more awkward when they communicate face to face, and are less trusting and open with each other.
In this work, drawing was used as a medium to explore and reflect on personal growth, both mentally (inner space) and physically (extended space), to record the journey of regaining self-consciousness and clarity.

Wang Mo is a visual artist who is interested in exploring humans’ relationship with nature and their immediate environment. Her experience living in major cities such as Beijing, Singapore and London landed her interest in studying cross-cultural practices and invited her to explore human conditions and other related issues further.
