We were piqued by curiosity of how non-living materials could be manipulated to a living state. The close-up framing of the materials amplifies the textures, details and forms of these materials, evoking a sense of awe and highlighting their raw beauty. In this work, the materials take centrestage, speaking for themselves, as they are transformed by magnetism, natural invisible forces, time, motion and space, to create patterns and movements that are usually invisible to our naked eye. The visually engaging images hope to lead audiences to pause and ponder if these materials are indeed dead/non-living or alive, if time is taken to look at them closer.
