Research on the plants that can be found in a mangrove.  Draw attention to textures, plant forms, roots structures, fruits and flowers found. This precedes a learning journey to Sungei Buloh Nature Park.

Art Making Tasks:

1. Experiment with clay:
   1. What happens when a clay is too thick?
   2. Left in the air for too long?
   3. How do you make different forms, with the given ceramic tools? Can we make our own tools?
   4. How do we add or subtract?
   5. Can you ‘dig under’, ‘dig through’, roll thin pieces of clay and re-attaching it to a tile? 
2. On a 18 x 18 cm tile, create the texture or forms we might find in a mangrove.
