The measure of learning opportunities as an extended space through this art installation, Fill in the Blanks, can be inferred by the 40 landscapes captured, each with a school desk. Every photograph presents an immersive experience for authentic learning opportunities. When the landscapes have more significant meanings to the students, these landscapes will stand out. The curated learning environment could be part of their life aspirations or what they perceived their future space could be. Some landscapes could trigger a moment within the individual’s inner space as well. All of these curated learning spaces bring forth significance and wonderment in the student’s life as they go through the grind of academics.

Erman Abu Bakar is an educator and a visual artist whose practice explores the complex relationships in Singapore’s youth culture. Looking primarily at school-going children, Erman considers their psyche and aspirations in relation to the ideals of meritocracy and social mobility in the Singapore city-state. Erman’s artworks explores the psyche, affluence and meritocratic ideals of youth in the Singapore city-state.

Felicia Ting is an educator and visual artist who is intrigued by the different perceptions towards communication and inter-human relations. Through exploring these themes, she hopes to create works that unravel more to human nature.

As an aspiring artist and educator, Rozaimi Abdul Rahim strongly believes in leaving a significant impact to the audience through his artworks. He does not just focus on the aesthetic significance as his artwork further engages the viewers to concoct beyond the form and visual elements. He makes certain that every artwork produced is able to communicate to the audience that, “Contemporary art is not all about beauty in forms, but rather beauty of thought”.
