As an art educator, my convictions regarding Art and Education are constantly challenged—Does our educational establishment stifle creativity? Can we teach creativity? Can creativity and education coexist?

These questions framed my art-making process, with the rubber ducky as the starting point. The rubber ducky resembles an enduring icon of learning and discovery through play. For me, it represents the child that we place at the core of education.

With the support from stakeholders of education, coupled with the constant re-thinking and re-inventing of approaches, perhaps the intricate scale of creativity and education can reach its equilibrium…
