Possible Guiding Questions for Discussing Art |
Possible Lesson Ideas for Making Art |
1. What elements of Art do you see in the artwork? How do the elements work together?
2. Why do you think the artist has chosen to study lines and texture of construction buildings? Think about Singapore’s pace of life, in relation to the construction buildings. How does it make you feel? What does this comparison make you think about? 3. How else can we convey a similar artistic intent in another medium? What made you say that? |
In this lesson idea, students could be asked to think about Singapore’s ever-changing landscape,
or lines found in architecture and nature. They can look and take pictures of lines they see around their own school or home environment. Students can observe how the lines are repeated, overlapped or varied, in order to create different textures or space. Students can explore with different materials to replicate the process of working with the layering of charcoal (E.g. Masking tape instead of masking fluid, which takes a long time to dry.) With reference to photographs taken.
