The shutter rolls down like a grand finale. People stop work and stream home, slowly fading into the quiet of the night. As a precious pocket of time, which returns at the end of each day, night punctuates our days. It is endearing, elusive, still, subtle, tense, passive, romantic and filled with possibilities. With no greater ambition than to collect portraits of the night, this film hunts for its essence in the most unlikely, yet commonplace, corners of Singapore.
