COVID-19 has affected us and our way of life in many ways. From social distancing to new architectural elements placed in public spaces, our society has adapted and is still in the midst of adapting to this change. To highlight this shift in human behaviour, my artwork would have us see this enforced distancing in a more tangible way, with a suit of plastic and air that physically prevents people from invading our personal and covid-free space. It also displays social distancing in a more tangible way, and the emotional distance in our social lives.

“You are what you take from these. So drown yourself in a sea of knowledge and existence.”
Amanda Lim Y.M. (b. 1993, Singapore) is very intrigued by the idea of adventure and voyage. Being interested in exploring boundaries within and out; political, social and cultural issues are critical subjects which she is exposed to and influenced by.
Her own interpretation of experiences and observations, often in the form of documentations, contribute to her attempts to start conversations and deconstructions as well as inspire her works.
